The BBC is the world’s leading public service broadcaster. We create award-winning content and programmes which inform, educate, and entertain millions of people in the UK and around the world.
You probably know us best from our TV channels BBC One and BBC Three, or stations like Radio 1 and 1Xtra. You might use BBC Bitesize for revision OR BBC iPlayer to catch up on programmes like Frozen Planet, Ru Paul’s Drag Race, or Match of the Day. The BBC has: 8 television services, 10 radio networks, 2 national radio services in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, 41 local radio stations across England and the Channel Islands, Digital services including BBC News, Sport, Weather, CBBC, CBeebies, iPlayer, BBC Sounds and BBC Red Button.
We have BBC offices located all over the UK and the world. Our biggest UK bases are in London, Salford, Glasgow, and Cardiff. However, we have over 50 locations across the UK.
We offer these schemes in different areas such as production, journalism, design and engineering, and business. Within these areas, you can gain a qualification at different levels ranging from level 3 up to level 6 which is a degree equivalent. Depending on the apprenticeship programme, you could be researching programme ideas, designing webpages, finding guests, installing technical equipment in our broadcast studios, working on the logistical aspects of programme making, or learning to use production equipment. As well as our apprenticeships, we offer graduate and post-graduate programmes in journalism, business and design, and engineering. You can also apply for entry-level positions in our facilities or catering teams or for roles like runners, assistants, and receptionists through our main BBC career site. We are a leading early careers employer and hire more than 250 apprentices each year. We are committed to skills and talent development both inside and outside the BBC and, as one of the world’s most creative and technologically-advanced organisations for the last 100 years, a career at the BBC means learning from the best.
